Shavaun Johnson, DNP PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Light at the End PLLC, serving the Valley, as well as the surrounding rural communities in Phoenix.
Having worked in behavioral/mental health for over 10 years in various settings/roles including corrections, inpatient care, outpatient care, community mental health, residential care, and acute treatment she is passionate about advocating for mental health and vulnerable populations.
In her spare time, Shavaun enjoys spending time with her family and pet dog. She loves food, DIY house projects, listening to music, and traveling. Her favorite quote is by Martin Luther King Jr. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."
Shavaun strives to build a therapeutic partnership with each patient to understand who they are and their goals for their health and life. She is passionate about advocating for and empowering patients with diverse backgrounds by means of providing resources, emotional support, and evidence-based treatment.
She graduated from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later decided to go back to further her education and add to her skill set. In August of 2020, she obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is now certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to treat across the lifespan.
